I always thought it did, but there was a thread somewhere on this forum that said it didn't. IIRC.

@pagla - looks drawish or advantage to India (given we have to bat last). Of course, I said this last year after England declared at 551 and lost!

Looks like a draw. But I still feel there may be something in it yet. Aussies might just lose a few quick wickets and get in trouble. They should have scored at a better rate today. On the other hand,if the Aussies bat till tea tomorrow, the scores will be nearly level. And then,if they can get the Indians out in two sessions and a bit more......who knows ? Funny game. Just add to it a few contentious decisions from the umpires and we may still have two very intense days left.

Gilly retires. One of my most favourite (if not the most favourite) cricketers ever. Excellent timing of retirement. Some of our players should take cue from him. How good is Haddin as Gilly's replacement ? Warnie,Pigeon and now Gilly. Tough times ahead for you.

To be fair, other than his incredible innings against a 5th rate England (and that is being kind to the woeful poms) at the WACA last year, his batting has been very ordinary for the past few years. And so has his catching, as we have seen in the past 2 tests.

Our catching has been the difference between winning and losing and has been for quite some time now. As Bobby Simpson said, "Catches Win Matches".

Haddin is an excellent keeper and not too bad with the bat. He will take some time to settle in, but I feel will be a very good keeper for Australia.

Warne and McGrath are our biggest losses (I do wish Warnie would return), but we always knew that them and Gilly, Marto and Langer were gunna quit soon. Let's hope we have the upcoming talent to maintain our edge.

OOTH, India has some bright times ahead with its young pace attack. Of course, Sachin is irreplacable and now that you have finally found a good leader in Kumble, he is close to retirement, too!

You must be getting sick and tired of Matt Hayden. His absense may well have been the difference in Perth.

Regards
