Default No lights under screen name

I always wondered but never asked 'till now. Why is it when you use custom text in place of the default "Digital Video Expert" or whatever, you lose the little colored lights? (As in my case)

I just don't see the point in taking away the reputation lights just because you have custom text. Not that I have a rep that I want to show off.

Well, your av at Doom9 has been uploaded. And I'm pretty sure the other is a forum software thing, not a limitation imposed by admin.

Thanks alot blu. I really appreciate it. For some reason Doom9 was telling me I couldn't upload it because it was animated. Then I tried to send an unanimated version and it refused for a different reason. Hmmm. *scratches head and wonders*
