Default KLEIN vs ACRONIS (Need your viewpoint)

I am the registered owner of Acronis True Image 9.0 which I have purchased for $49.00 when it first came available. Normally you are entitled to ALL the update builds or bug fixes within 9.0 as they become available. There are approximately six update builds of fixes since 9.0 first came out.

The problem is Acronis has encorporated the 32 bit operation and 64 bit operation into one update file in the latest two builds to make the single update 76mb file. Instead of seperate update files for 32 bit operation systems and another update file for 64 operation systems. For slow dial-up internet connections this is almost impossible to upgrade Acronis True Image 9.0 to the latest build. Acronis has make it mandatory to have a high speed internet connection to upgrade to the latest two builds. (76mb executible file)
The dial-up internet connection (26.4 and 28.8 speed) disconnects after approximately 60mb of download or approximatel 8+ hours of download. And after disconnect you have to start ALL over, and not where you left off, after you reconnect.

I have confronted Acronis on this problem and they tell me for an additional $12.99 they will provide for me a CD-R disk with the latest build so I can update. I told them no way, I have paid for Acronis True Image 9.0 and I am entitled to ALL the 9.0 builds even if I do not have a high speed internet connection needed to upgrade to the latest two builds.

To me this is wrong, and tells me never to purchase any Acronis products anymore.

What if I give my friends 15 to 20 the latest email address and password at Acronis web site so they can download my one registered copy to all of the 15 to 20 different computers, or give my friends 15 to 20 the CD-R disk that I have that gives the installer download file and latest build for Acronis True Image 9.0 so they can have a copy for their use. (Which I do have now, thanks to a friends high speed internet connection)

I mean if Acronis does not want to work with me, why should I work with them. And for me its not the money, its the principle, what they are doing is just plan wrong.

Maybe management over site. Tech support sometimes isn't very supportive. Perhaps a letter or e-mail to their higher ups?
Or maybe they already knew about this problem and figured to make a little extra cash. Hum...

I understand your anger but 2 wrongs don't make a right, the way to handle it is to complain a lot,

http://www.acronis.com/enterprise/support/forum/

tell them how stupid and lazy they are, where it hurts

E-mail them once in the morning, once in the afternoon & once in the evening everyday. Just for the heck of it & get all your friends to do it as well, telling them how badly they think you were treated & that they considered buying their product but not after they heard about this.

Yes, not that it's any of my business, but don't lower yourself. Your friends and all who know you will respect that. Remember, you have to look in the mirror every day of your life and you better hope to God that you like what you see. It would be a shame to see yourself full of shame for your questionable actions.

I agree that sux Ed but another question is if the prog is working and you are on a dialup, why bother?

Or do it at work and pop it on a memory stick (the one we didn't get for free from M$ ).

Regards
