I don't see anything wrong with that. What if smartty has no choice?

And what is UncasMS implying?

i was implying that smartty might use that machine (running 2k server) rather for encoding than for watching - typical case of using ones pc at work for example

Don't complain.

The company where I work at use computers of the same speed and to make it worse, the people there are amazingly (relatively speaking) computer-illiterate. Imagine everyone insisting on running the desktop resolution at 800x600, regardless of whether their monitor was a 17in or 19in.

Where my Dad works, they always downgrade the software. His server and laptop came coupled with Windows XP. However, even though his organization has determined that they will eventually (possibly within months) migrate to the XP platform, they still found the need to install Windows 2000 on his server and laptop (an erase XP).

Well at least he has some cool machines. But I'm pretty sure he misses the pretty colours of Windows XP

Well last week my dad requested a Laptop and he got a nice IBM laptop I think 1.8 GHZ and that is what he mainly uses now. My dad is almost blind so he has to use 1024xXXX which really sucks for me because I like 1600x1200
