Default Watermarks

http://www.theadvertiser.news.com.au...55E421,00.html

this is why screensavers were invented, never thought it would happen when there is lots of motion on screen, and especially when watermarks on all aus channels are semi-transperant

as if removing watermarks during encoding isn't enough trouble, they can damage our screens. damn network executive bastards

they are everywhere. tbs superstation (atlanta) and spike tv now are going beyond watermarks and actually have little men walk across the bottom of your tv, or swing across the screen like tarzan to advertise a new show. at least it's moving but just as sickening. abc, nbc, cbs all have watermarks that are semi-transparent. most other channels i get too. nick at nite has a steady solid one, which i kind of like for some reason.

So true Lt. and I love how, even though "transparent" the water mark covers up vital screen data like scores, time, temp, the critical part of a movie, etc. They drive me nuts!

Ever see the TVs at bowling alleys? That's why they make them multicolored now (color changes every 10mins and those little animated pins when you knock them down )

Those damn things are more than annoying! They really do block stuff on the screen.

I don't mind it, just get pissed off once in a while. But TV is still good though.

Can't say that I disagree with either of the last 2 comments.

Yeah, I can see why DVD is better than TV, but I don't know how many people would wait for a show to hit DVD before waching it. That can take a long time (in the case of PokÚmon season 5, it took a couple of years to get it released... everyone thought they were never gonna release it, so they all cherished the VHS tapes they taped them on)
