Hi David (& Lynne )

Assuming the conversion went OK (you can test this on a software player), the problems seems to be in the burn.

You should only use genuine Verbatim or Taiyo Yuden media. Many thanks to www.pcx.com.au for their supply and great service.

Check the conversation? Ill try playing the dvd on media player?

The disks i am using have always worked before. I must admit however that it is the first time i have set nero to max quality. The disks are Phiips -R 4.7 version 2.1 revision 6 ( essentialy philips -R )

I have checked my device manager. Both drives are using ultra2

Just out of interest, i am using SATA for the HD so both drivers are set, if i remember correctly to master. IDE 0 and 1 as neither is sharing with HD

Change your media. CMCs are the worst going around. The brand name is irrelevant.

Do your conversion/authoring with vision but save to hard drive, then check the playability, sound synch, etc with nero showtime or other software player, then use nero to burn. Your error log was incomplete and mostly garbage.

To some extent, but philips, HP and magnavox branded cmc mags seem to be the worst of the worst.

Of course if your burner is dying all this matters little?

I have saved to hd and watched. Seems ok. As i am using Nero7 Nero start smart, what is the way to complete onto disk? I have tried... "Make your own DVD, then chosen Add video files, where i navigate to the new Video_TS folder. Which files do i choose? I did try all of them, but it looks as though the final will give me a seperate video and menu page once recorded to disk?

Please Help this newb
