Default Nero 7 installation problem

Hi,

A friend has been trying to load Nero 7 but is encountering a small problem. Once the disc is inserted in the machine it only runs for about 20secs then an error fault is produced.

The reported error is; Nero cannot find configuration file.

Is this a Nero problem ie. the disc is faulty or is it a windows problem ?

The only other piece of info I have, is that he manually removed some files when he uninstalled his earlier Nero version. He has successfully reinstalled this one, but it seems very strange that the new one will not load up.

Any help would be very much appreciated. Thanks.

Maybe he should try to uninstall Nero6 with this tool:

http://ww2.nero.com/nero6/eng/Nero_6_CleanTool.html

And then clean his registry with this tool:

http://ww2.nero.com/nero6/eng/Driver...ryChecker.html

If his disc has the activation code, why not download if all else fails (from here):

Wait till he burns a couple of coasters and see how he feels then. He was actually luckier beforehand.
