Welcome to the forum. Check for Nero update. Use better media. Slow down burn speed to 2X or 4X and:

external usb burner?
nero seemed confused?
Recorder: <br /> Version: 1.17
hopefully a newer version of nero won't
that firmware is old,
http://forum.rpc1.org/dl_firmware.php?download_id=2140

judging from the hard drive you might not even have usb2 on that laptop?
my crystal ball's kinda acting up today

and it would probably help if you stopped so many programs from loading at startup

What region are you? When I searched "Mrs Smith", a lot of Accross protection came up. Did you or have you ever used the wizard? I am wondering if this is an encyption problem?
