Default My DVD will not burn in DVD flick!!

Hi, I just downloaded the newest version of DVD Flick Normally, the ImgBurn program is downloaded automatically at the same time. However, when I go to Project settings in DVD Flick, the check box to "burn project to disc" is disabled. If img burn is dowloaded, it should be enabled. I even tried downloading Img Burn program separately and tried to burn my DVD that way, and it still did not work. My preference is to do it automatically from DVD Flick because that is what I'm used to. Has anyone experienced this problem? Please help. Thanks!

I've used DVD Flick for quite awhile. But for the most part I use other converters now. In any case, I've always found it better to output a VIDEO_TS folder. Check it to make sure it's complete. Then burn with Imgburn. Over the years many people have reported that converting and then burning with Imgburn in Flick all in one go encounters many more problems than doing the burn manually. If you search this forum I think you'll find many other than myself relating the same experience.

Is there any way to change the default burner from ImgBurn to another burner? I am working on a project where I am archiving the old Perry Mason TV series to DVD. Since there are appx 382 episodes, it would take appx 50 DVD's to complete the project. Therefore, I am burning to dual layer DVD's.

ImgBurn will not automatically select the proper place to do a layer break on the dl disks. Some other programs will. I usually do the burning overnight when my computer is not being used. Therefore, sometimes ImgBurn sits idle for hours waiting for me to select the layer break. If I could make a different dvd burning software the default for DVD Flick, I could solve this problem.

Any suggestions would be helpful. Thanks.

According to this guide:
DVD Flick Guide

if you select .iso image as the output, an .mds file will be created along with the .iso. I believe Imgburn will accept the layer break indicated in the mds file. If that works it would be a matter of setting up some batch to get Imgburn to burn the iso images in sequence.

DVD Flick was open source. But it's been out of development so long no longer has the source code.

I know I burned a dual layer using Imgburn and it accepted an .mds file for the layer break. But I don't know if Flick produces a suitable .mds. Guess you'd have to rely on trial and error.

edit: also my memory is hazy. It was some time ago I burned using the .mds file. I don't remember if that totally bypassed the layer break dialog, or if it came up with the break selected and I had to click OK. But if Imgburn has to be it, you may be able to use a marco program to click the OK Button.

Another consideration. There's a new release of TEncoder

It is designed to run in batch. It can be set to use FFMpeg like Flick. I haven't used it enough to know if it has AviSynth support. But it is faster in batch than running a single job the way the threading is set up. It's free and worth a look.
