Heres a silly question -- Has anyone successfully recorded a DL through Nero Express (6.6014)/Burning ROM.
ALL my tests have failed ![]() My tests have used 4 different types of Dl's all Good medias And Yes I burn slow etc. And yes I Know what the problem is Nero seems to ignore existing Layer breaks and does its own thing (even setting the break via IfoEdit or PgcEdit seems to be ignored) And yes I can successfully burn via ISO on all test medias Just Curious FAllenAngel |

I stick by this guide only for DL's & I don't use Nero for them.

Soup -- Yes I know how to do it -- My Question doesn't ask that.
I'm trying to decide if I want to add TW burn support (via nero SDK) for both sl and dl without ISO (Which is a pain if using any Vob/ifo editing tools) (Compiliation as files) Nero works fine for sl but on (POS) on dl's If Nero doesn't cover I won't bother Last edited by FallenAngel; 8 Apr 2006 at 09:53 PM |

@FA
You may well know my feelings about Ner0. I have seen some folks say they can burn DLs with it, but many who can't. The problems seems to be that Ner0 (at least in past incarnations) used to 2nd guess the author and put the layer break where it thought was best, packing the sectors together and having scant regard to 32k boundaries. Seems however, that even Ner0 can burn ISO images without reallocating where it thinks the layer break should be. A properly authored ISO should be burned OK with whatever. So generating an ISO (via PgcEdit) and burning it with Ner0/ImgBurn/DVD Decrypter should be OK. It's the ISO generation that's the key. Don't let Ner0 do it. Regards

Yes Blutach I'm fully aware of ISO,Layer break restrictions.
My question essentially is -- How or Has anyone Been able To Burn A DL reliablely Via Nero Without!! converting files to an ISO in any fashion My tests say it can't be done -- But I'm willing to listen (Perhaps I'll "join" your camp regarding Nero and Dl's) I consider converting files to Iso as a workaround for Ifo/Vob editing programs (and am Testing/looking for burning software that respects Layer Breaks in the files) so far haven't found any.
