Default Pioneer DVD-RW 106D Power Calibration Error

I have a Sony Vaio with a Pioneer DVD-RW 106D and I am receiving the following error message.

The Drive couldn't determine the correct power for writing this disc, To solve this you need to use a different writing speed or a different brand of media.

Power Calibration Error

Status: 000 20202
Command: 2A 00 00 00 03 00 00 00 20 00
Sense: 03 73 03

I've tried to cahnge the writing speed and changed brand of discs. and nothing works. Sony was no help what so ever.

Read this about Power Calibration Errors. It's from the Pioneer site!

http://www.pioneeraus.com.au/computer/faqs/faq_22.html

Also make sure you have the latest firmware for your burner.
