Anybody familiar with todays' giveaway, ImageBadger. I converted this jpg, 132 Kb's.

Name:	BOBD5LG4S8.jpg
Views:	1
Size:	132.3 KB
ID:	913582

    To png format, 404 KB's.

Name:	BOBD5LG4S8.png

Size:	404.1 KB
ID:	913583

Is this because I converted it straight across & didn't use any filters etc? The png just seems to have bloated right up.

PNG is a lossless compression format, think of it as a (transparently) zip-compressed bitmap. A larger file size than the jpeg is normal, but it seems ImageBadger's algorithm is still not on par with XnView's & IrfanView's, especially with pngout. Better than MS Paint though.

                      EASEUS Partition Manager Server

Seems like a good program for those partition projects.

I have seen a few threads lately that could benefit from this one.

Anybody know if this a good one?

                        Link

                        Looks good to me.

EDIT: Changed Link. Their URL Changed?

If still trouble go to main page www.giveawayoftheday.com

                              Hi Burrell,

                              Got it THANKS.

Burrell .. have a question .. these GAOTD Registration will NOT work unless you are logged in on the internet .. right!?!?

                              If so, that kinda stinks!

BTW ... there is a Freeware Version of this program and it is only a little older and no expiration ... version 3.5.0.25. http://www.emsisoft.com/en/software/free/

                              Thanks,
                              G!

Correct. It needs to check if the giveaway period is still valid.

Glad it worked out for you

                                Cheers
