    New TeraCopy 2.0 beta 4

A new TeraCopy beta is out:

TeraCopy is a compact program designed to copy and move files at the maximum possible speed, also providing you with a lot of features.

Esp. if you use Vista you may find that TeraCopy will transfer large files across your network and even move files on the same partition better than explorer. Also if you use FreeCommander it can be set up so that FreeCommander will use TeraCopy when you do file copy and move buttons, without setting it as an Explorer replacement.

Rather than replace Explorer I just use the shell integration and drag & drop, selecting TeraCopy Here or TeraMove Here from the menu when the right mouse button is released. That way any programs or shell extensions that depend on Explorer Quirks(tm) continue to function.

The nice thing is you can adjust the size of file transfer buffers in the TeraCopy Options.ini file. I've set mine to the same size as the HD hardware cache. Seems to be spiffier than explorer copies by quite a bit.
Working...
