    use firefox to go there and then try finding what you need at more reputatble sites

    Mcafee tested 11962 downloads and only found a few bad one

    the site hosts many more than that which change daily

      Just avoid things that are likely to be bad, such as "ACME Screensaver Pro" or something like that. I don't think it's a case where Softpedia is deliberately putting malware on their software (and most likely, it's adware/spyware, not virii/trojan), it's just publishers of malware products submitting their "software" to Softpedia and Softpedia's approach to stopping bad software isn't as good as they claim.

        what about the possibility of drive by malware thru advertising on the site? I got that impression earlier looking at the scripting
