    @LT
    I think what made Zathura so enjoyable for me, a hard core scifi nut,
    was that supension of disbelief effect, worked in field of dreams also,
    which review was where I first heard the term.

      @derree

      altho saying a Jason type thing can happen ...well...not to sure about the whole unkillable part lol..
      lol, yes i didn't mean that...just the killing people in the woods part

      ..just picked up a classic ..Sleepaway Camp parts 1 2 and 3...nothing supernatural at all..just a crazy girl killing at a camp
      holy crap, i didn't think i'd ever bump into anyone who'd seen that. i have the first one. kind of suspenseful that's for sure, the ending though--lol funny as hell (to me)

            It's so hard to do scifi, day the earth stood still, first 3 star wars, Contact,
            close encounters, ET(shoot me), 2001spaceodys, are all that come to mind.
            except the alien & predator movies
            what's funny was I actually liked alien vs predator and thought they
            did a fairly good job of making it work!

              ET(shoot me),
              don't worry, i've got that one here, it's excellent.

              you don't like alien (1979)? i thought aliens (86) was good too. actually i have all 4, but alien 3 has to be crapiest by far. that doesn't excuse that last one either though. no star trek for you? never cared for it myself...cant stand the sight of shatner!

                  Also, the Japanese film Returner. Has elements of Terminator and Matrix in it.

                  It has Takeshi Kaneshiro from House of Flying Daggers in it.

                      I agree LT not many people know the Sleepaway camp movies and I thought 15 bucks for all three not bad...and I cracked up when you made your 'girl' comment I remember being so shocked the first time I saw oh so many years ago LOL.....
                      I also just saw Blade Runner for the first time and really enjoyed it! Then again I love movies so much that I can find good in almost any movie...

                          except the alien & predator movies"
                          should read (to mind, except for the alien predator movies)

                            Carrying on the sci-fi note, anyone been watching the new Battlestar Galactica series? I really liked the original, but im beginning to prefer the new one, and not just because of better effects. The story is a lot egdeir, and the acting is first class.
                            Liked Land of the Dead, but then always been a zombie nut.

                              I have just watched the mini series so far. It was pretty good and it was left on a good cliffhanger. I will get the first season sometime.

                                They are halfway through the second series at the mo, and it just gets better. Hopefully there will be a third series. It was on Sky (uk) but im unsure if they will keep showing it. Fingers crossed.
