    multipassing??

I am confused with this multipassing. I read few articles but they didn't answer my question. Should you (when multipassing), set low motion modulation in 1st pass and high motion modulation in second pass.what about bitrate and how to predict a file size? are there any good articles about multipassng around??

Both Doom9 and DivX-digest will have articles that can more than answer your question. On my part, it is recommended that you use the same settings for both first pass and second pass.

p.s. Which codec are you using? DivX (what version), XviD, or something else?

With DivX 5.x, make sure that the bitrate you specify in the first pass does not differ much (within 5-10% difference) from that in the second pass.
