I had a BB account. I didn't like their music selection. I like Netflix because of their extensive music DVD selection. I haven't rented a new release in a while. Up to this point I haven't had any problems.
Make a mistake once shame on you. Make a mistake twice shame on me. Number one is over!

With NF I'm still waiting for King Kong but with a BB account that has low rentals it came up as "Available Now" when I first chose it within the last week and a half. Gotta wait and see how BB turns out

Same thing for me too!!! It seems to be in spurts. When I signed up last year, 6 a week, then it got goofy. I understand when they have to send certain ones from out of state, but not when they come from the local one. Case in point, last week I checked out "The Family Stone", and some others. I received them wed. did what I need to do, then had them out thurs morning. The rec. Friday and said I would have my other two 05/06/06. They sent me Family Stone again, and I just got "Spaceballs" yesterday, and still waiting on the other one.

What i want to know is how does blockbuster deal with lost and or damaged movies. You practically needed a lawyer to present your case in store when falsely charged for late fee's. I almost switched to BB online from netflix but couldn't imagine that their policies would be much better. Whenever i get a damaged disc from netflix i never send it back until the new disc is already in the mail that solves the problem of getting the same damaged disc twice and yes it is a pain but i'm sure it happens with blockbuster 2. I still havent heard anyone who uses intelliflix.

Intelliflix: SuperPass - America's #1 Online DVD Rental Plan

If i were to switch this is where i would go and not just because of the soft core porn but until i hear from an actual member i'm staying with netflix.

Intelliflix looks like their trying to pass as Netflix. If you really see what they're saying, 'Superpass, America's #1 DVD Rental Plan', I think refers to their $16.95 price and not that they are the #1 Online Rental Service.

To me BB online just beats the rest because of the in-store coupons, and the fact that they are looking towards mailing out the rentals more and more from their actual stores as well. They might get pretty 'fast' eventually.

I know in the long run you are right mikey, BB has more money more stores and the potential to be more efficent but i have had such a bad experience with BB in store it's just hard for me to switch. I have complained to netflix many times about the added incentives BB offers and asked how they would compete but never got an answer.

I was with Netflix for a long while and was blown away by their speed and selection, 'at first'. Then it got progressively worse month after month until I just had enough.

I too sent them E-mails to the effect that their 'throttling' practices might end up costing them business to BB because of the in-store coupons and that they need to keep their existing customers happy, which i said I was not, They basically said 'sorry for the inconvenience' but continued to do the same thing.

                    netflix sevice

ive had the same thing happen too me netflix leads you on when you start or restart an account and for the first week or two the service is great so to solve the problem i have three accounts i close and reopen when i cant get any new releases that my other q says very long wait restart a account and youll have the new release the next day amazing how big the company is they dont give a darn about the faithful customers that spend thier hard earned money on the service gets slower and slower the longer you remain with them. so i emailed them and they told me its the postal service bs it is i send out 3 dvds and only one gets recived several days later they magically appear when you report them missing six days later..i told them that it is not the mail and it does not take six days tomail your dvds back 100 miles away i just got more bs from the crappy company so i told them on no uncertain terms were they could put the company thats my experince like many many others...i dont recomend thie company to anyone they dont hold up thier end and just make excuses so now i just use smaller companies that want my bussiness and dont treat me like some kind of idiot!!

                      @ floresdave

I don't know what they do for lost movies for sure, but as far as damaged movies, they have a damage report online and once you go into it you have the option of having the same movie shipped or the next one from your queue. They do not have to recieve the movie back before they ship the next one. I recieved one damaged movie on a Tuesday, found out about 9pm that night it was damaged, went online filed the report and Wednesday they shipped the replacement and I had it on Thursday.

With my account I have the three movies at a time, as soon as I filed the report the damaged movie left my queue and status as being shipped, so it showed I only had two movies out.

I too like BB because with the instore coupons alone, it basically pays for the whole month of online rentals.

With BB after 3 days you can report a DVD as not recieved, with NF it is 6. BB had in my queue they mailed a DVD, after 3 days I did not receive it, reported it, and told them to ship the next DVD from my queue, The next day I got the DVD that was late and the day after that the replacement DVD BB shipped in its place. I returned the original DVD and the replacement and not a peep from BB about.

I just noticed a return envelope for BB doesn't say BB online in Philly, but looks like a Video Store in Jersey..

                          Edit - and doesn't have a prepaid postage thingie neither...it has a $.39 stamp on it !!!

I got some from local stores with the stamps as well. I figure that they are testing the process and don't quite have a deal in place with the postal service yet. But I'm sure they will if they decide that it is efficient enough.
What BR7 said about new distribution centers no longer needing to be built makes a lot of sense.

:> I'm sure thats why they're trying the store shipping process.

I am a Netflix customer in Texas, and I experiance VERY little throttling... I send back 3 DVD's at a time, and 2-3 days later 3 come in. I watch those in the 2-3 following days and then send them back. So it must be just certain distribution warehouses that are doing the throttling.
