Verbatims get scratched too easily!!

you'll know which one when you load the disc, and at the beginning of every columbo the title is shown in the start credits with big letters---can't miss. and of course. i have all episodes.

This is hilarious, my family and I were playing this game called Imagineiff, and there was a question that said "if ____ were a detective, who would he/she be?" and Columbo was one of the answers (out of 6). Of course I voted James Bond tho because that was more correct

Columbo Season 1

I just finished watching the entire season 1 a couple of weeks ago. My favorite was actually the first episode on disc 1, I guess because it seemed different than what I've seen before (looks too young, isn't as sloppy looking in the trenchcoat yet, hasn't got the Columbo mannerisms down yet, etc.). He always starts off appearing absent mnded or even idiotic to his prey (sometimes to comic effect), but always ends up outsmarting them. It's so cool that a lot of this old stuff is finally showing up on DVD. I've also seen the entire The Prisoner series recently.

I can't believe this, but those "great" Verbatim discs get scratched WAYYYYY too easily. I burned a disc, took it out. No scratches. Put it on the desktop and wrote on it with a Sharpie. Picked it up. There were scratches! What the heck is that!

And, of a 10-pack of DL's, 3 of them have more then just miniscule scratches - to the point where they might not even burn all the way!!!!

Memorexes on the other hand, you can even take your fingernail and scratch the surface, and they won't scratch. VERY scratch resistant. Now if only those two companies could combine and make discs that were "excellent" and not just "great".

Which is better, discs that burn well and then get scratched each time you take them out of the extremely protective case, or discs that don't always burn well but never get scratched unless you take a nail and make gouges?

I am so mad at Verbatim for not using the "scratchguard" that other companies use.

I have had problems in the past with anything memorex, just not my trusted brand, plus I heard the write slowly fades after time.

My Memorexes have been good to me...

And my Memorex CD player is awesome, has an AM/FM Radio, and MP3CD compatibility, repeat, resume, memory, all for $35. Can't beat that.

Memorex is usually sh1t. You can buy Verbatim scratch resistant blanks now. But if your backup gets scratched, make another one!

I will look into those scratchgard, but I think those are only the ones that come in boxes.
