well it's happened with a couple of verbatims and now a Yuden clone.
cdspeed scanned disk at 94, power dvd plays fine in computer, but
2 different standalones won't even see disk!
am I shooting myself in the foot even setting booktype?
Hello Chewy, step back and retry the 1Y5 firmware if the discs were burnt on the NEC 3550. You mentioned that you updated to 1Y6 in a PM. Could be the cause.
pretty sure the burns were on 1Y5 on the nec 3550 and maybe the LG, but
they were a few weeks ago and I didn't really narrow the problem down till this week. the verbatim and yuden clone from hong kong were sporadic quality, my theory is the center ring where the bitsetting goes was bad?
Like looking for a needle in a haystack, disks scan good, show dvd-rom bitsett
and then won't even open in a standalone player.
I am glad I had only used TY G02,3's dvd-r's for my library repair. I made a
bunch of COF wedding/reception dvd's and miscellaneous stuff like cheerleading dvd's for some friends and just remade when one or two didn't play in their players.
But even a normal burn from the hard drive also screwed up.
Maybe it was all nero's fault!
They always play in the computer, DUH!
