      where do you get the log from on nero. then i will post the last 10 or so burns see if you can find anything that is different from the one i know works.

              Proboller - this is most likely a burn issue.

              Post your Ner0 log. It is in C:\Program Files\Ahead\Nero\NeroHistory.log (if you have Ner0 7 it's in C:\Program Files\Nero\Nero7\Core\NeroHistory.log)

              Check media ID and firmware - see link in my signature.

                      let's take this one step at a time
                      first let's update that firmware
                      download 10GE

                      for that dell oem drive, boot into safe mode and update

                      next try a burn with with another disk, not an rw, they go bad and we can't
                      troubleshoot well with one

                            ok i did it. when i started up it said it found new hardware. I don't have any dvd+r here. all i have is dvd+rw. i can go to walmart and get some if i need to use them.

                              take a new rw and do a full format(erase disk) with nero
                              always start out rw's with a full format

                                it goes for about 5 seconds and then says "error erasing disk"
