Nero Burning ROM Dvd-R

Hi im trying to burn a .bin to a disc and im using NERO burning ROM. I set it all up right but when I went to burn it said I need to use a CD-R/RW...and im have DVD-R. Is there anyway I can burn this file to a DVD-R or do i have to buy CD-R/RW...and if i have to use those do they play on all dvd players?

well I never worked with .bin before so i dont know much about it but i see .cue and it says KVCD in title

it's an advanced form of vcd(used in the far east a lot) based on mpeg2 compression, poor man's dvd

burn to cd

quality is fair, but a lot of players won't play it
