    cant find firmware for sony AW-Q170A

    anyone got any ideas for me???

      so at the risk of asking a stupid question (better stupid than a ruined drive) the firmware for these are the same Sony AW-Q170A (Optiarc AD-5170A).
      If you use these forums you will not have to face that...

          so in the page you directed me to there is a firmware http://liggydee.cdfreaks.com/fwinfo/en/5170a/111bt or liggy's AD 5170A Bittsetting firmware 1.11, is that the one you would use?

            Please note that flashing these drives will currently not work in UDMA 4 mode. Please use PIO mode instead.
            safe mode will put you into pio
