Problem with SYBA PCI Serial ATA Host Controller Card

I recently purchased an ATAPI iHAS124 Y SATA DVD burner along with Seagate 750GB SATA HDD (ST375084) as a spare drive for storage (not bootable). Since my motherboard (FOXCONN 661MXPRO) does NOT have any SATA connectors on it I had to purchase a SYBA PCI Serial Host Controller Card. The card installed nicely and recognizes the HDD but on bootup (with the DVD burner also attached to the card) I get the error message that the operating system cannot be found. I boot from an ATA HDD connected to the MB but I checked my BIOS to make sure my boot drive was first in line (it was and is). If I disconnect the DVD burner from the card it boots normally into Windows (XP SP3). If I reconnect the DVD burner cable to the card while in Windows it "sees" the DVD burner but tells me I have no drivers installed (even though it then works perfectly). Any thoughts...ideas?

    Thanx in advance.
