    Resolution

    I have an original dvd and i am playing it on a projector but the
    dvd image is not very nice is this normal.Does this happen on hd tv's such as plasma.

    few reasons may be happing....

    1: ur projector is not as good or not producing as good as it should
    2: ur using a real big size in which u may see blocks
    3: ur projectors bulb is near death for quality atleast

    no u wont get this on hd tv's or plasma, even not on rear projections under 50 ".
    Seems like as soon you buy somehing, v. 2 comes out 1.5 times as fast!..!

      So how come some people tend to use blue laser dics
      will this effect the image.

        what i can say is projecting a family function on a real big screen using my 3ccd dvcam results in perfect video, better then any dvd video i saw. even my brothers non 3ccd dvcam looks ****y and crapy. oh program was in night, at daytime both camera produce almost same results.

        now lts see....... dvcam = atleast 28000 bit rate compare it to 9500 max bitrate of dvd
        Seems like as soon you buy somehing, v. 2 comes out 1.5 times as fast!..!

                frm shops.....

                what i meant is use orignal good quality dvds and not the pirated ones.....

                  Eventually you are referring to the normal dvd's found in well known stores.

                  So backuped dvd'd oftenly using shrink they will look horrible on projectors right , but they won't change anything on hdtv's such as plasma.

                    By the way have ever noticed some sort of lag during a dvd playback.Because latley i backed up some movies and some of them lagged and paused during playback.Any help??

                      yes ur correct, shrinked dvd's look more like vcd's on computers
                      but one thing i found bout normal dvd's found in known stors........... not all hav good quality pic dont know why.....

                        never happened here but, i never use my pc while encoding of any type. and always keep my harddrive defragmented.
