AVI to DVD

Just a quick question, Im kinda new to all this stuff and im using Nero to burn. I have an AVI video that I want on a DVD and followed neros instructions. When I got to the last step it says movie will be burned in ntsc but most of video is Pal would you like to burn in pal or leave in ntsc. I tried both ways, when pal, movie skips alot. ntsc it works in my dvd player but even worse then pervious type. Whats the best way to burn the avi file? Is there sometihng wrong with it if its asking me which format? Or could it just have to do with which type of dvd im using ( DVD-R). Suggestions would be great thanks.

Grab a copy of Winavi conversion programme and convert your avi to dvd and then burn with Nero.
I personally have not had any problems and have burnt in excess of 150 dvds.

If you're not into creating a simple menu and you want the DVD to start playing straight into the film, download VSO DivxToDVD and if you want to create a simple menu, download VSO ConvertXtoDvd. They convert well to the DVD files in the VIDEO_TS folder. With VSO ConvertXtoDvd, remember to remane your AVI files so that the title/titles show properly in the menu. If you name the title of the AVI file all in lowercase, the title will show in lowercase in the menu. I made that mistake one time. The way to title the AVI file is how the title shows in the menu. You can also add an image in the menu, too. The only thing the menu lacks is audio.

I agree with Darren that CX2D is one of the best available right now, moreover they have included and Audio Gain correction facility in it....nifty cool feature. Though the problem with the menu that it creates is tooooooo basic. You can't even have the listing of all the chapters available (correct me if I am wrong Darren.. I would love to see all my Chapters being listed ].

AVI2DVD is also a very good tool but it is not a easy one click solution as CX2D.
