    DV.AVI in Recode2

    Hello gurus
    Newbie needs your help.
    I'm trying to encode DV video in .avi format in Recode 2. I did it some time ago, but can not find what I'm doing wrong now. I choose "Recode main movie to Nero Digital", choose "DVD data files", Point to required .avi and whatever I do, "Next" button is inactive.
    Don't know what did I forgot.

    choose "DVD data files"
    AFAIK Nero Recode needs DVD files as input. DV-AVI is NOT "DVD data files".

      I maneged to encode DV.AVI though. I went to "Recode DVD and videos to Nero Digital' ->"Import files". Everything went smoothly.
      AFAIK, Nero Recode is the only application in the marked that is able to do DV.AVI ->h264.mp4 without prior compressing to mpeg-2. I guess I saved some quality this way.

        any h264 encoder (or any encoder, period) should accept DV avi input

        you might want to take a look at x264 and MeGUI

            @anonymez:
            I played with MeGUI and x264 for a while and was not able to do that. May be I did not know how, but I was not allowed to create d2v file there.

                Did not try. Will do that tomorrow.
                But for me "demux" sounds as if program was created mainly for mux-demuxing

                  no d2v file needed, you'll need to create an avisynth script beforehand, tools-->avisynth script creator

                    Yes. You're right.
                    Just voice demuxing-compression-muxing should be dealt somehow different.
                    That's not a big deal.
                    Thank you
