    Subtitle help

Anyone know how to pull the subtitle track out of a Nero Digital MP4?
I ripped a few DVDs some time ago for backup. Now I need to go back to DVD but Nero Vision doesn't support it's own subtitle track in the MP4 files, so I need to pull them out to hard-code them separately before re-creating the DVD. Any idea how to do that?

Alright; here's the deal I have about two dozen backups made in Nero MPEG4 Digital format in MP4 container files. I need to turn them into another format since Nero can't handle its own files, nor can much of anything else aside from BSPlayer and MediaPlayerClassic; both of which are giving me trouble on Vista and Neither can run on my new Linux software overlay at all. I asked about a similar issue earlier here and got some good ideas. I need to go a step beyond that now.
I can't get the internal files out of them. I've tried the software I was told to use at a few places to no avail, as well as the ones suggested in my prior post here. I need to extract the raw files into three new separate ones or convert them to a different format (ie avi, rmv RGB or YCC) and still have the subtitles (either hard-coded or as a separate file).
Already tried MP4Cam2AVI, MPEG4ToolKit, and YAMB. The first two can read the video and audio, but can't extract the subtitle track. Yamb can't get anything out of the Nero files.
        Any Ideas my helpful peers?

Good thing you mentioned it. I have successfully extracted a vobsub stream from a Nero Digital mp4 today using the latest YAMB with the latest mp4box.For the latter, download the 9th May 2007 build. Also, have a look at this :http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?t=110419

Use the File browser icon just at the end of the input box.

Strange. I have them in mine.Try reducing the YAMB window size.

Did; Doesn't make a difference. It just shrinks with the reduction of the window. May be a good idea to mention I'm running Vista!? lol. I can't even TAB to it, it's like it's not there. Strange! I even tried completely removing and wiping the sectors it was on before redownloading and reinstalling. Still nothing.
To thank you though: Installing the new mp4box and pointing to it in the OLD yamb does let me extract some "standard" Nero mp4s but not the newer non-standard ones. So it's progress.

Yes.I was also going to suggest using YAMB 1.6 with the May 2007 mp4box. It seems you have got some success with it.Could you extract the vobsubs with it?
Have a look at this.It might answer your question about YAMB in Vista.

If you mean the Frame-Cell subs (.sub format) yes. They popped out fine for the most part.
It seems that the the setup works nicely with the Enterprise 7.4's version on back, of Nero Digital format (1.X and 0.X). The newer format with HHx/IER support are completely non-standard. With some of them I can get the audio track out of some; and the video track out of others; but never both. One only allowed me to get the subtitle track.
I'm coming to realise this is a Nero problem; not the other software. So my first major gripe with Nero. I've called their main support line (as in not local) and did my best to talk to the operator but my limited ability with the language was problematic. I THINK he said that they were working on an update for better inter-product support. So I'll wait on my troubles. You've been a great help and if there is any other hiccups you want to know I'll gladly respond. I've thrown everything at this; including the kitchen sink (KTChn Sink MP4 Encoder).
As for YAMB, It's got to be a vista thing. It works on XP and my Linux overlay. [bug report]

Thank you for the kind words. I will be around and try to figure out the mp4 realm. Actually,I rarely use mp4 because there is virtually no standalone support for this container in my country. So,I restrict myself to XviD/DivX avi.
