    vobsub - choose directory

    can i direct vobsub to use the subtitles from folder that doesn't contain the movie? for example i have movie on cd but have found the vobsub subtitles later on so subtitles are on harddisk
    somewhere. it ain't a big thing just curious. if it can't be done i'll simply make cd again with subtitles.

    You can give it a try, but be prepared to encounter synch. problems.

      did you manage to do it? how?
      and why does it become unsynchronized?

        Select Start->Programs->Vobsub->'Direct Vobsub configure'
        Set General->Loading to 'always load'
        Load the video into wmp6.4 or another player that lets you access direct show filters (not wmp7 or later).
        In WMP6.4 select File->properties->Advanced->D'irect Vobsub Decoder'->properties->main->open and select the subtitles you want to load.

            WMP6.4 should be installed on WinXP by default.
            But it's hiding, it's called mplayer2.exe, and is usually located at 'C:\Program Files\Windows Media Player\mplayer2.exe'
