looking for a Dvd burning software please ?

would you know if a DVD+RW speed is 2.4x and the DVd writer speed for DVD+RW is 4x...will it still burn ?

It might, probably won't hurt to try. But why can't u burn it at 2.4x? What burning software are you using?
If you are using DVDDecrypter you should be able to select 2.4x from the dropdown list here:

no luck mate...just tried burning it with 2x speed and dvd decrypter freezes at 33%. regardless of the fact that DVD+RW werent burning, this time i used DVD+R, still no luck. any more advises. thank you

surre will. right now enroute burning the iso file on DVD+R 8x DVD...its gone upto 73%...fingures crossed...once done i will put the other DVD+R or DVD+RW in and then send the log...

the worst of all is that i am just wasting my blank DVDs on trying copying and not completing...just wasyed 2 in 1 hour.thank you

Thank you. i would have used the +RW DVD untill i knew it was burning but the RW's arent burning. dont understand why ? now even the DVD+R 8x speed DVD, burnt, but verification stopped at 13%. here is the log of the same :

i pressed abort coz it just wudnt do anything...

Just tried burning on DVD+RW, yes, like you mentioned, the burning went Ok but verifying locked at 8%, popup said I/O erros : device not ready . the specified network resource or device is no longer available. here is the log :

and after all this the DVD tray wouldnt open on pressing the eject button...I HAVE TO reboot the system or reset the DVD drive to get the DVD out...you see...

how would i be able to do this firmware thing please ?...click on download location, save the file (zip) on hard disk, unzip it and then...?

since its a external USB dvd writer will i have to do this to all the computers it will be connected to ? thank you much....

Download and split the .zip file.

You will then see two pdf manuals that describes how you should do to update your firmware.

when you burn with DVD Decrypter, there is a default option set (you can change it) that the drive tray is locked (tools-settings-I/O).

Those CMC Mag disks are awful. What the verify is telling you is that the burn is bad.

PLEASE go buy some high quality disks and I suspect your problems will be solved. You're trying to save some $$$ on cheap disks (first Prodisc, now CMC!!!) but ending up wasting your money.

I wouldn't say that all CMC are bad, but they sure are variable. Here's a TDK (CMC MAG E01) I had with an excellent scan, better than some in my current batch of Maxell's.
