Vcd playback on sony dvp-f11

hello, i was wondering if a n00b could get some helpful advice for my little problem...

i have a sony dvp-f11 dvd player (supposed to play vcds and dvds), and it wont play vcds, is there any way i can get around this??

any help is gratefully received in advance,

The fact that the your standalone player is capable of playing COMMERCIAL VCDs does not mean that it can play burned VCDs. Additionally, many standalone players are very "finicky" as to what brands of CD-R they'll recognize.
