Playing A VCD with PBC

Hello, I have a Panasonic DVD/VCD player (model DVD-CV52) and I am having a problem playing a VCD I bought. Whenever I put the CD in and try and play it, the DVD player indicates 'PBC'.

I tried playing it on my computer and had no problem. Does anyone know what I can do to play it? My instructions manual says mentions what PBC is but does not tell me how to play usch VCDs.

Press the "Play" button on your standalone DVD player's remote control...

Thanks. The Play button did not work, but I started pressing Pause, play, pause, play and it eventually started playing.

OK, I have one clarification to how I was able to play this in case others read this posting.

I did have to use the control buttons on my DVD player instead of my remote, but this is what I had to do. While it is stopped, I had to first press the fast forward / next track button... then a 1 would display. Then I press play and it would play.

Pretty odd, but it worked!

... Still no response from Panasonic
