    avi. to dvd conversion trouble

I converted my .avi file to dvd using cucusoft converter. Upon watching the dvd i notice the picture skips forward slightly at intervals of around one second and the sound also has a constant slight stuttering. I think the same effects occur upon playing the .avi file with windows media player 10. When i open the file in VirtualDubMod it says the following: 'VirtualDub has detected an improper VBR audio encoding in the source .avi file (audio stream 1). The current preference is to rewrite the audio header with standard CBR values during processing for better compatability. This may introduce up to 58804 ms of skew from the video stream. If this is unacceptable, decompress the*entire* audio stream to uncompressed WAV file and recompress with a constant bitrate encoder. (bitrate: 116.8 _+ 14.5 kbps)'. Could anyone tell me what steps tp take in idiot-friendly terms? Thanks
