I haven't used it since it first went payware. Tried the version 2.x but they had it slowed down if you didn't purchase. I see a lot of posts that it's great, and a lot about audio sync issues. I suspect if you set the output(if they let you set it manually) to PAL for 25 fps videos and NTSC for everything else, you won't get audio sync issues. I'm just guessing but it's usually changing the frame rate that causes problems. You are better off having a DVD player that plays both NTSC and PAL discs.
For freeware I like programs that use HC Enc. FAVC, AVStoDVD .. also DVD Flick is good.
Like I say, I haven't tried this app since before they changed the name. Someone with experience may chime in.
If you are willing to spend a bit of time to pick up a few modifications to .avs scripts(AviSynth) there are a lot of free programs that work great. Usually the shortcoming is subtitle support. That's the thing that causes me to use work-arounds more than anything else.
