Help to convert 4:3 PAL to 16:9 anamorphic please

    Hi,

I have a 4:3 PAL project and I have been told by the TVC distributor to submit....

a video that is 720 x 576 16:9 anamorphic or 4:3 anamorphic if using Premier pro

I have created a normal 4:3 avi however in a 16:9 player it is stretched. It evidently needs to have blanks on the sides so it is still in shape (pillarbox).

How can I convert a regular 4:3 to the pillarbox for 16:9 please?

How do I do this please?

    Thanks

You can use FitCD to make the calculation and create an .avs script to do the sizing and borders. See this mini-tutorial:

xvid to DVD - resolution and aspect ratio woes

It doesn't matter that it says the output is DVD. Just plug in the numbers and check the Anamorphic box. You can use the generated .avs script with any converter that can use AviSynth.
