    MPG playback problems

I hope any of you can help me with this.

I'm new to the ffdshow codec. When I installed, first I had problems with AVI plaback, searshing in some forums I finaly resolve the problem. But now the problem is that when trying to run MPG videos, it stock in the first image of the videos, but the sound is running perfectly.

    What can I do?

if it were me, i would format and only install these: divx 5.2, xvid (latest), fraunhofer mp3 codec, ac3filter, MS mpeg-4 VKI... that is ALL i use, and i have not come accross a file i could not play because of missing codecs.

HOWEVER, if you don't want to format, get a program called something like "codec sniper"... it will remove any codec to your liking, and you are free to re-install them.

LOL for an "xpert" you seem like a newbee

    good luck

Simply uninstall FFDshow, as it seems like that is the culprit of the problems you are having.

Nope, there is no need to do this !!!

Simply disable MPEG1 decoding in ffdshows config...

        Ffdshow's MPEG1/2 video decoding is a bit b0rked !!!

For MPEG1 playback the Windows inbuild decoder is good enough...

But for MPEG4 playback and raw processing, ffdshow is still superior !!!

        Bye
