    extract ac3 with dvd2avi or any other tool (vob2audio for example), create your avi with gordianknot and mux avi and ac3 with CORRECT interleaving values.

    for details confer my guide (upper anigif)

        I believe UncasMS was referring to his "dvd guide" which can be accesed by clicking on the upper gif in his signature.

            Though I don't know what "danke" means I'll take it as a compliment

                      UnCasMS mentioned that danke, in English means thank-you. Since he speaks German I assumed the that danke was in fact a German word.

                        that of course depends on bitrate and length:

                        90 min movie with a 448kbit ac3 => 288.4mb

                        i.e. movielength in min x 60 (e.g. 90x60) x bitrate (448000) /8/1024/1024 => size in mb

                          Uncas, but you suggest to go with mp3 than ac3, right??
                          thats what i understood from your guide..

                          but since it is a music dvd, my friend asked me for a favour to make it ac3... he said he wanna listen it with more than 2 speakers... so is this just possible with ac3???

                          and one last question, because it is a music dvd should I make any change in Noise Filter under Save&Encode, or i just leave it at None still??

                            mp3 can easily contain SURROUND signals

                            5.1 can only be stored in ac3 or ogg, but the latter doesnt have apropriate filters for digital outputting through spdif afaik

                            i'd go for an 192 ogg file, which will have much better quality than an mp3 stream of equal bitrate and a great surround signal which can be played on any decent pc system.

                            ac3 can only be taken advantage of when sending the signal DIGITALLY to your 5.1 hifi

                            otherwise it doesnt make much sense to me (51. soundcard + soundsystem would be similar)

                            for ogg take a look at my guide
