is there a way to convert audio streams?

hello i want to be able to convert audio streams from one format to another. the reason is i have a dvd playback card which only outputs analogue audio if its dolby digital, if i switch to dts i get silence. this is a bit of a problem as when i watch a dvd at home i use my digital amp and like dts rather than dolby digital. if i then want to backup the dvd to video i need to have a dolby digital stream to downmix, this is the problem. if i backup to dvd+r and include both sound tracks it doesnt leave me much capacity for the video. is there a way to convert dts to either dolby digital 5.1 or dolby pro-logic, so i can remove the dolby sound tracks and add them when i need to backup to video.

ok nice tool how do i use it?

sorry im a bit of a newbie to this. ive run the utility up and can see an option to save the dts as pcm dts, but how do i then convert it to dd 5.1 or dolby pro-logic and re-multiplex it back into the dvd?

You would have to use SoftEncode (if you can find it), or similar, to convert...
