    MPEG Codec Problem

    Weird Problem......

Don't remember when exactly it started (what codecs installed), but whenever I play in MPEG in Windows Media Player, it flashes quickly (and violently) or it scrambles and resizes. However, if I play it in BSPlayer it plays fine....

Is there anyway to reset the system MPEG1 codec, or is it just something odd I can't fix?

Oh, and It's no big deal cause I use BSPlayer most of the time anyways.

    Thanks

Either play it in WMP 6.4 or BSPlayer WMP 9 isn't always the best player in the world. Dang Microsoft

Did you decrypt the VOB file? If you just copy & paste the VOB file from a DVD, then it will not be playable. You have to decrypt the file first. Check out 'DVD Decrypter'! Good luck!

quote on how to play vob files...
use Power dvd or real player...

for first post: I had same problem: had also some movies wich where playable, but not smooth at all!: codecs werent suitable... anything I tried (uninstalling, reinstalling,.. ffd show updating ect,... didn't work

Untill I installed the Gordian Knot codec Pack AND rip pack... (I needed to have these two pacs, someone adviced me... otherwise the codec problems would'nt be solved he told me...)

these two pakkages have made viewing movies on my pc much nicer to watch ... simply cause the installer told my pc to only use this codecs, and ignore the corrupt ones... (I didn't wanted to waste lots of time to search this bad codecs...)

anyway I'm not a programmer or IT speacialist... just a little exiperienced with this codec troubles after a couple of years beeing irritated by this kind of problems...

          hope this helps...

            To pauwlus

Not that there's any rule against doing so but, I was just wondering if you realized that you've responded to a posting that is more than a year old?
