    Mother Board Monitor VERY INTERESTING!

Hey I downloaded Mother Board Monitor today and it is very surprising how hot your CPU gets while encoding. I was on my regular maching (info is posted in sig) and while encoding a VCD my temperture went from 111 F to 131F that's a load now

44 - 55C; The maximum temperature is acceptably low (slightly higher than mine), but the minimum (idle) temperature is a little high (mine is around 30C and slightly above).

My CPU is a P4 1.8GHz (Willamette core).

        lol.....awww

obviously, when u are encoding, it takes alot of CPU power, and the more power it takes, the faster the process gets done (depending on ur CPU speed) and things get hot....

make sure that u have a decent CPU fan tho!

and make sure its not a crappy AMD (no comments on this please)

I converted your temperature range of 111 F to 131F to 44-55C. You get a fair estimate of the temperature range that I'm talking about now?

              Should be fine.

Mine runs at around that temperature (at 100% CPU utilisation) and it usually lasts for up to a day or longer (I normally set multiple jobs in one go). I have had this system for close to one and a half year, and it's had no problems at all.

Mine started getting over 140F while encoding but then I installed some fans in my case and that's dropped to 129F. That is within acceptable limits. When it gets over 140F it will start acting up. So you'll be fine.

I just got done encoding a VCD and I was running at 135 F I am getting 3 fans and a sensor for them here pretty soon. I've already got 2 fans though. Is watercooling worth it?

the normal computer shutdown temp is 60C. I have gotten up to 60 before and It just shut down.

Watercooling can be VERY effective! It can lower the temp of your system down to under 100F during full CPU usage. It is a little bit of a pain to install but it looks cool, it's very quiet and very effective.

Well I just bought a new case for my computer made out of plexiglass and I installed some sound activated neon and I just though a watercooler would be effective and look cool at the same time

                          overclockers

If you are serious about SPEED then type "overclockers" in Google and check these out...

Just overclocked a friend's 2.5ghz p4 to 3.1 tonight, regular cooling (pentiums == omfg leet overclocking)

44 - 55C; The maximum temperature is acceptably low (slightly higher than mine), but the minimum (idle) temperature is a little high (mine is around 30C and slightly above).

Nah, 30 is about right for that CPU if you have a halfway decent heatsink.

and make sure its not a crappy AMD (no comments on this please)
