    Legal? I think not....

I joined DVF i week or so ago.. and i have gotten quick, postive and accurate respones to every posting. I had a VHS made in to a DVD at Walgreens (legal because it was a person movie) I made copies of the vcd using nero (legal because it was mine). Well here comes my questions... 1. I was at the flea market this moring and i bought lord of the rings 2, 8 mile, red dragon and many more DVD quialty movies on svcd (illegal i know.. but it was a goods deal on movies) If I were to make copies of these svcd and give them friends or family would that be illegeal? or If i were to down load movies from winmx is that illegal?
If you can't dazzle them with your brilliance, baffle them with your bull****. I'm not smart, but I like to observe. Millions saw the apple fall, but Newton was the one who asked why.

As long as people don't buy it from you that is legal. I wouldn't recommend buying SVCD's and VCD's here in the US though because if the law finds out you are looking at a nasty fine

according to the MPAA it is illegal. But the MPAA won't come knocking to your door and searching your house for a vcd...

        "illegal i know..."

If, in fact, your supposition is true and you've purchased illicit merchandise, it is a fact that replicating and distributing (even free of charge) replicated illicit merchandise is, in itself, an illegal act...

In Yugoslavia, we had like, really BIG black market when it comes to the CD's.. Now, the goverment is pissed 'cause they're not getting a piece of that deal, so they're making some effort to 'clean them up' now...
No matter weather it's a DivX, mp3 or audio cd, as one said, nobody's gonna come up and knock on your door looking for illegal copies. However, if you get a flip-table, and go out on the streets, selling your copies of cd's, you'd be in a trouble. Personally I don't have anything aganst sharing my stuff with others. From time to time I buy something other people need so we exchange, and I think it's okay.... Not like you're making thousands of dollars on simple exchange. It's that they're (the government) loosing that money
...this MIGHT not be the best picture that I have...
