    Damn... Wrong again... Encoding

    I just finished with encoding cast away.... (from Divx 2 VCD)

    Before i started, i tested it a couple of times, and it was great...
    very good quality..

    But now.. 4 hours later... it comes out crappy

    it looks like it is playing "fast forward", like:
    if you have 10 sec. of movie, it plays in 5 sec... 2 times as fast..

    and the sound "crispers".. and skips parts...

    I'm getting pist off to all this shit... isn't there a program AllIn1
    that convert DIVX3/4 to VCD/Dat...
    I now use
    TMPGenc.. (where it whent wrong(encoding from divx 2 VCD))
    and Virtualdub (i extracted the audio first)

    I just dont know what to do any more ...... i could cry,
    but i wont.... cause im tough....
    As long as my boss thinks i earn a lot of money, i will pretend to work hard

    First of all i think your sound is sampled with 48.00Hz iso 44.100Hz and strange thiongs happen with 48.000Hz (normally no sound at all )

    Futhermore ............did you also instal the vafi plugin for TMPGEnc (you'll find it on the same site, together with the install instructions)

    Did you just extract the sound out of your avi and entered this as "ausdio source" in TMPGEnc (which is kind double) or did you converted the sound to uncompressed PCM.wav -format and entered this in the "audio source" ?

    Did you check you AVI for corrupted/freezing frames ?

      I've done it again..

      and again the same results....

      The 1st 15 min. are fine... but then it's start to run twice as fast, causing the sound to "skip"... i think.. because it wants to be in sync. with the video stream..

      i extracted the audio with virtualdub:
      video --> full processing mode
      --> Compression: no compression PCM
      save wav file: it's sice is about 763 mb's... pretty normal.

      If i play the sound file, there's nothing wrong with it.

      Then i open TMPGenc,

      browse to the video file..... added
      Browse to the (extracted) audio file .... added
      I load the standard Template: video-cd PAL...

      3 hours later....... &*#^$(#.....

      and another day waisted... .....

      I beginning to get nuts here..
