I have video, but no audio. Please help!!

Using DVD Shrink I re-authored the movie 'ICE AGE' and backed it up to my hard drive (the only choice for audio in the English language is AC3 6 channel which I left checked). Using WinDVD 4 I can play back the movie with no problems (video and audio are great). However, if I use Nero DVD Standard 4 to burn a disk, I get great video, BUT NO AUDIO.

I believe this is because Nero DVD Standard 4 is not AC3 6 channel compatible. It can only handle AC3 2 channel. So what do I do now? Does a newer version of Nero support AC3 6? What is the easiest way to burn my backed up movies onto a DVD? What software have you used that works?

Is "Nero DVD Standard 4" a "light" version of NERO that came bundled with your burner?


NERO v.5.5.10.xx and NERO v.6.xx all support burning ALL audioformats...

Thanks for your reply setarip!! Yes, "Nero DVD Standard 4" is what came with my burner. I will visit the Nero web site and upgrade my software. What version do you recomend I buy in order to burn movies? Do you have a perticular version that works best for you and supports AC3 6 channel?

I continue to use NERO v.5.5.10.42, which yields consistently perfect results. I have not yet sought to use the recently released NERO v.6.xx, because I'm not yet sure that all "bugs" have been ironed out...

burning dvd with nero 6, fine video but no audio

I am having a similar problem but the present solutions don't apply
I'm using shrink 2.3 and I can play the videos with sound successfully from the backup folder on my hard drive and can copy this folder to data dvd and play that also with sound
but when I use the recommended recording technique in nero 6...28 (www.dvdhelp,,,faq/index.php?qid=177)
the recorded DVD plays fine video, but no audio
after some research, I suspected I may be missing some necessary plugin for nero 6
I searched and found one that was supposed to work
I installed it and still the same result
any suggestions would be most appreciated as nero user support is not all that satisfactory and is costly
