A few standalone DVD players, but not many, have this capability...

you seem to know a lot about this stuff
can you tell me with which programmes do you work
as i said i will try with the uleda

i wonder why are there .but and such files on the org. dvds
is that like .bin and .cue that these files link to certain video file?

i would be very glad if youo could tell me the whole procedure
from the beginning when you have an .avi file and right to the end whwn you put the dvd in the dvd-player

i think this is not just my problem

like i said before i am new at this so any help would be appreciated

        Mae govannen, Gil Galad.

I suspect that you have more than one divx movies and it also may be that you have more than just one codec used......

since you are able to play all your divx movies I suggest
that you use the Tmpeg encoder tool to convert your
avi files to mpeg2 (dvd compliant files).

some of avis do contain VBR audio streams (variable bit rate)
Tmpeg and also CCe can not handle this!!! so I suggest that you use virtual dub mod to create *.wav files
out of the included audiostreams first!!

having converted your newly gained avi+wav files to mpeg2 format you could use TMPEG DVD author (pegasys program , different from Tmpeg encoder!!) to create a DVD compliant DVD structure.

I suggest nero 5.5 or higer for burning.....
other posters may suggest other programs .... I have chosen this for you since problems that may occur have been discussed
many times in this forum and guides on the use of this procedure
can be found by simply using the search feature in this forum or
        with google...
        good luck!!
