join .avis when audio streams have different sampling rates?

    Hi:

i recently tried to join a bunch of .avi files using virtualdub, and got this message: "Cannot append segment "___": The audio streams have different sampling rates (12000.00000 vs. 11998.00000). I searched around the board, and found a post where setarip suggested this as a fix to this problem:

"For EACH of the two files, do the following:

    1) Load file into VirtualDub
    2) Set "Video" to "Direct Stream Copying"
    3) Set "Audio" to "Full Processing Mode"
    4) From the "Audio" dropdown menu, select "Compression"
    5) Select, for example, 44,100Hz
    6) From the "Audio" dropdown menu, select "Conversion"
    7) If necessary, put a checkmark next to "Display all formats"
    8) Select your preferred sampling rate from amongst the, for example, 44,100Hz .MP3 rates listed
    9) Click on "OK"
    10) Save with a new filename"

the problem is, i'm not dealing with 2 files, but about 250 .avi files that i want to join, and i don't want to go through the process of changing the audio on each one individually. is there any way to join these .avi segments despite their different sampling rates, or to streamilne the audio of all the clips at once, so that i can then join them with virtualdub or virtualdubmod (which i also tried)?

    thanks,
    david
