        1) Have you EVER been able to successfully burn a CD on this burner?

        2) Have you tried re-inserting the burnable CD several times?

        3) Try running a DVD/CD cleaning disc on the burner. Maxell makes one that retails for approximately $10US...

            "nope, i always changes disc"

Try re-inserting the SAME CD - several times, if necessary...

(And it's woth the $10 to use the DVD/CD cleaning disc)

I just had my Pioneer A05 start getting power calibration erros when burning dvds. I cleaned the lens with lens cleaner, same error. I don't think a cleaning disc would clean it, you need to take it apart and use soft cotten cloth with lens cleaner.

In my case, it still wouldn't work so I replaced it with a Sony DRU-540A.

Have you tried looking at the ASPI? It may have just currupted Which burning software are you using?

Download a newest version of the ASPI and give it a wirl, downgrading your firmware is not going to do much for your drive if the ASPI is gone awall...

For more info on ASPI visit:

It pays to ignore some deals of Bulk media, as it is only adeal for the selling part and not the buying half, the consumer.

I always say that... Not in so many words but, if anyone thinks cleaning the laser involves calling Mr. Scotty, they have missed out on reality...
