    Preferred DVD player software

Can I get a picture as to which player (eg. WinDVD, PowerDVD, etc.) is better or something like that? I was using WinDVD (year 2000 version) and then changed over to PowerDVD, which happens to be the lastest version then.

The performance of both players seem to be identical to me anyway. Can someone highlight to me any differences between these players as well? Thanks!

    i think its personal preference.
i have used both at different times, and both have outperformed each other on various occasions, so i dont think any 1 is better than the other. WinDVD and PowerDVD that is.
    They both have similar features.

    my 2 cents.
a little bit is better than nada.
sometimes you want the whole enchilada.

      the software I prefer

winDVD has better sound quality, and I hate software like powerDVD that cannot coexist well with other.
There a great software to play DVD and other video format:
ZoomPlayer v2.4 (optimized for TV-OUT) and the best of all it's free.

        Really

I agree with FlashISO that WinDVD is better.
You can find a cheaper one (WinDVD 3.1 DTS): the latest version from www.******.com

I had too many problems with WinDVD. I switched over to PowerDVD 4.0 Deluxe and it has treated me well. It get a little choppy sometimes, which I can't figure out, since I have a 1ghz, 650MB RAM and a GeForce 32mb video card. But other than that it works great.

WinDVD wouldn't play out of my center speaker, ever....No matter what settings I had setup. PowerDVD worked perfectly! WinDVD wouldn't play some of my DVD's either....

I would suggest you download PowerDVD off morpheous or something. I didn't say that out loud did I?
