Solveig Multimedia AVI + MKV Trimmer is a useful tool to enable a very fast trimming or cutting any necessary part of the source AVI file of any size without quality loss.

The trimming process is much faster than a real time playing since the core trimming technology doesn't use any decoding/encoding process.

SolveigMM AVI Trimmer Component

Solveig Multimedia AVI Trimmer Component is an engine designed for nonlinear editing of AVI files, implemented as COM object based on Microsoft® DirectShow®.

Version 1.0 allows a developer to cut the part of an input AVI file with specified start/stop time positions and save it to an output AVI file.

The component package has all necessary binaries, Developer Reference Manual and Visual C++ application sample code, that demonstrates an usage of SolveigMM AVI Trimmer Component.

SolveigMM AVI Trimmer Component v.1.0 features:

SolveigMM MPEG2 Requantizer Component (DirectShow Filter)

SolveigMM MPEG2 Requantizer Component is an engine designed for a fast and high-quality recompression of MPEG-2 high bitrates video.
The component has been implemented as DirectShow filter. One of its main purposes is a fast DVD back up.

The demo application inputs are MPEG-2 Video Elementary Stream, MPEG-2 Program Stream, DVD VOB files.
It splits video/audio streams, recompresses MPEG-2 VES in concordance with the set compression ratio and writes audio/video streams to respective files.
Audio streams are dumped as is, without recompression.

Total audio/video output files size is approximate size of MPEG-2 or VOB file containing these streams after multiplexing.
Such one can estimate potential VOB size decrease.

- The bug with a last frame in timeline has been fixed (neither markers nor slider were allowed to be set to last frame)
- The bug with redrawing a video frame while dragging the Video Splitter in overlay mode has been fixed (now a frame is redrawn after dragging stops)
- The bug with filters enumerating in "icon"->"info" dialog has been fixed
