    First time using DVD burner...

Okay, please have patience with me. This is the first time I am trying to use my DVD burner...It is an external Memorex DVD burner. I've used CD burners before but never a DVD. Okay. I use Nero the latest version. I click the tab DVD to burn and then I go make your own dvd-video. First off I'm trying to burn saved Video clips that I have saved from Hockey games ( just to let u know what I'm trying to do) they were from a hockey site. Well when I saved them they were saved under RealAudio/RealVideo. When I go to add them to the list to be burned it won't accept them. Please have patience I'm new at this.....Is it because I saved them in the wrong kind of file....or am I just trying to do something that won't work. If anyone is familiar with Nero....when I go to my Nero Toolkit and I go to my Nero Info Tool....the only boxes that are checked are CD-R and CD-RW.....I need the DVD-R DVD-RW, DVD+R DVD+RW. I need this for the read features and the write features. When I go to the drop box and arrow down....the 2nd selection is Memorex DVD+/-DLRWN16D2 but it won't let me make that selection and keep it......I'm totally stumped....and if I have all of you confused...I'm sorry....You can tell me I"m a lost cause....Thanks in advance for any help....If u can't help I will understand....Thanks

    "they were saved under RealAudio/RealVideo"
1st you have to convert these to a dvd compliant mpeg 1/2. Tmpgenc plus or similiar.
    Author the converted mpeg 1/2/s

it's seeing your dvd burner. Is this the software that came with the burner? If it's an oem for a different cd/dvd burner this can cause your problem

Oh God....how do I do that????????????

It is the software that came with the burner.

I am going to check to see if there is any updates for the Nero burning program. That is the software that came with the burner.

I would appreciate any help you can give me. Especially with converting the files

ok........ to understand the DVD burning process...... you have to have compatible files that will burn to a DVD. RealAudio/RealVideo is not compatible to write on a DVD. I use a program like BulletProof Soft's Video Convert & Decompiler. this program will convert your files to an MPEG1 or and MPeg2 format that is acceptable for DVD writers. Nero will accept it in this format. There are other programs that are free out there but you'll have to locate them....... here is a link to the program that I am talking about:

good luck and you'll get over this and start burning soon!
