No Audio?

OK, so i have two separate .avi files that when i run in Windows Media Player, says 'connecting, sending codec request, error downloading codec' and plays the movie, but with no audio, just video, and when i play it in the divx player, doesnt mention the lack of codec, just plays it w/ no audio, but a window pops up that says

"Audio data: Tag 8192" You may need to install a new audio codec to listen to the audio... anyone know the solution?

see if you can post a screenshot of the video and audio information using virtualdubmod (freeware)

after some investigating, downloading and installing "avi codec pack 2"(do a google search). has corrected this exact error for numerous people...

it's probably ac-3 audio. to verify this use avicodec or Gspot (both free). either program will tell you what codec/s are needed to play the audio and video and if they are installed on your pc.
