    Can't Preview after Preparation Phase.

    I posted this over at Doom9 yesterday but got no results so figured I'd ask here.

    I was able to Preview the VTS's after Prepare phase with Prov1.00 RC4. I had to format my PC a couple weeks ago and I just got around to reinstalling DVDRebuilderPro yesterday, but this time I installed DVDRebuilderPro v1.00 RC5. Doing my first dvd yesterday in Movie Only mode but after Prepare phase I planned to blank the ending credits of the last VTS but I can not preview any of the VTS's. I used the installer from the download link mailed to me in my update e-mail. I did not have AviSynth2.5 installed so the DVDRB installer installed a (Rocko?) version of AviSynth. I have the same codec pack installed that I had before formatting (K-lite codec pack full 2.5). I've haulted my project at the end of the Prepare phase until I can resolve this and continue to encode. I looked through the help file with no results. Any ideas or help appreciated.

    Also during installation once it come to the CCE/Procoder config I ended installation there since I don't have CCE or ProCoder.

    Well, today I uninstalled both DVDRB and AviSynth, downloaded the full AviSynth2.5.5 and installed it then reinstalled DVDRB (this time I unchecked the CCE/Procoder definitions during install) to complete the install. I even uninstalled my codec pack and updated to newer release. I ran Prepare mode again on my movie but still can not Preview the VTS's. I've made sure View/Edit>Shoe "Extra" Segments only is not checked. Right now I have to rightclick each .AVS file choose Open with and open it manually with Media Player Classic to find the VTS(.AVS) I want to blank.

    If I rightclick on an .AVS file in the Working path as you can see in the image below their not associated with a program.

    Could this be my problem? Or could it be a failed registry of DGDecode.dll? Any help appreciated.

    Well, DVD-RB_v1.00RC60Pro came out today. So I hoped DVD-RB_v1.00RC60Pro would solve my Preview problem so I completely uninstalled DVD-RB_v1.00RC5.1Pro and installed DVD-RB_v1.00RC60Pro. I ran the Prepare phase and went to Preview but still no video. I have PowerDVD6, RealAlternative1.42, QuicktimeAlternative1.48, Windows Media Player v.10, K-lite Codec Pack v2.53Full but apparently I must be missing a codec that I need. Anybbody know which codec DVD-RB_v1.00RC60Pro uses?

      I don't have any additional codecs installed on my PC and I have the preview. I doubt you need external codecs based on this.

      It's not associated with any programs in my PC either.

        This has happened to a few people and I still haven't been able to find the cause. DVD-RB uses the windows MCI interface to play back in the window.

        Look in your windows\system32 directory and see if you have winmm.dll. Also check the date and size on the file and let me know what you find. Also, please let me know what operating system you are using. I've tested it with standard installations of Windows 2000 and XP.

          Yes I have Winmm.dll v.5.1.2600.2180 as you can see in image below.

          OS = WindowsXP Home SP2

          And after checking, I can playback the .avs files in Windows Media Player, Classic Media Player and Zoomplayer Standard just fine. I guess I have the needed codec. Oddly though the Preview worked with v1.0RC4 before formatting my harddrive. After formatting I installed all the drivers that came with my PC (Dell) except the PCI Modem drivers and I installed v1.0RC5 after formatting. I don't have v1.0RC4 anymore for testing.

            That's exactly the same version I am using... this has only happened to a handful of people -- and I can't for the life of me figure what is different about their systems.

              Well, I just weren't sure if it was due to something changed in RC5/6 different from RC4 or something different in my system after formatting and since I deleted RC4 (which worked before formatting) I can't try it to see if it's the difference in the system, installer (a registry key failed to be added?) or program. I'm not placing blame, just trying to figure it out ad resolve it if it's my system.

              I'm gonna keep brainstorming but although I'm no PC beginner I'm far, far, far from being a PC expert. But atleast until it's resolved there's atleast workaround for previewing the .AVS's by doing so in another video software.
